Embodied Text

Embodied Text explores the relationship between the city and the body, specifically the relationship between the Market Estate and its inhabitants.  Rather than considering this relationship as mutually exclusive, the architecture and the people are mutually defining inscribed onto one another. Language and text are adopted as the instrument for which to describe this exchange. The lived experience of the estate residents are inscribed into the building fabric, revealing the ability of language to transcend, interrupt and distort boundaries.
